Preimiered on MTV Hive : http://www.mtvhive.com/2013/11/11/the-band-in-heaven-music-television-video-premiere/
From MTV Hive: “The video, directed by Alice Cohen, is pure nostalgia, featuring a collage of vintage images reminiscent of the Sex Pistols‘ “God Save The Queen” poster crossed with ’90s Nickelodeon, with some Lisa Frankness thrown in for good measure.”
For the occasion, labelmates Jean Jacket has released a remix of Music Television. We love it.
(These are all official showcases!)

the band in Heaven – Caught in a Summer Swell was released today. To celebrate their first full length release, we have also released a music video for them. Brooklyn Vegan premiered it on their site today (which you can read right here.)
“Florida’s The Band in Heaven released their debut album, Caught in a Summer Swell, today (9/17). It’s a lovely collection of dreampop that should interest fans of late ’80s Creation records, ’90s-era Slumberland Records and jangly, effects-laden guitars in general. You can stream the album below. We’ve also got the premiere of the video for “Fairweather Friends” which you can watch in this post as well.”
You can buy the release in the following formats:
the band in heaven – Caught in a Summer Swell 12″
the band in heaven – Caught in a Summer Swell CD
the band in heaven – Caught in a Summer Swell Tape
the band in heaven – Caught in a Summer Swell Digital
Supplies are limited (except the digital download, of course) so make sure to grab a copy before they run out!
Today MTVHive premiered a new track, “the band in Heaven – Farewell Summer”, from their upcoming album (which you can pre-order right here.)
From MTVHive: “In the hazy days of adolescence, the end of summer not only signals the return to school, but the end of a sort of worry-free gap in time, the inevitable awakening from a three-month dream. The Band In Heaven‘s “Farewell Summer” takes that reflective, longing feeling and sets it to the sounds of stirring riffs that take you right back to the beginning of 11th grade.”
You can read more about the track at MTVHive website or listen to the track below.
Today SPIN has premiered the first music video from the band in heaven – http://www.spin.com/articles/the-band-in-heaven-dandelion-wine-video/
From SPIN – “The band in Heaven’s latest single, “Dandelion Wine,” shares its title with a Ray Bradbury novel. Published in 1957, Bradbury’s Dandelion Wine distills the author’s childhood memories of summertime into a book-length meditation on mortality. Now, the band in Heaven have shared a music video for “Dandelion Wine” that channels the same sort of wondrous, sunlit imagery. Directed by Jacques de Beaufort, the new clip lingers on a surreal summer lovin’ party — flower children smoking, groping, and grooving — that takes a sinister turn.”
You can watch it here or below:
the band in Heaven’s first single “Dandelion Wine” off their upcoming full length “Caught in a Summer Swell” was just released today via Brooklyn Vegan.

Decades Records has just partnered with the boutique FrenchKiss Label Group for distribution and promotion of all our bands. We are very excited for this partnership and look forward to working with this wonderful distro group.
Taken from the Frenchkiss Website: “Frenchkiss Label Group is a hands-on boutique distributor, focused on growing visibility for independent labels as the bottom line.
In the spirit of communities like Dischord, Rough Trade, Touch & Go, et al., FKLG serves to nurture newer labels as they become industry mainstays.
Created in Syd Butler’s image, our goal is to create a community that can encourage and support one another. We hand pick labels who reflect the integrity of Frenchkiss and aim to expand upon this ethos.
Since we’ve partnered with The Orchard, we can attest that we’re working with the best talent around when it comes to delivering and streamlining distribution and adopting new platforms for music.
We’re striving to recreate the handshake mentality of pioneered label communities while using the Orchard’s innovative methods, in order to be the best resource for those looking to grow with us.”
the band in Heaven shot a music video for their first single off of the new album, Caught In A Summer Swell. Here is one of the many shots we got from that afternoon out in the woods.
Fun Fact: We were at a “certain” wildlife preserve and somehow were able to burn a dress, smuggle in a keg, and go through 20+ large smoke bombs. All while the ranger station was no more than 200 feet away. And the sign that said “Open Fires Are Punishable By Law.”
